At Morgan Stanley, Carla Harris is responsible for increasing client connectivity and penetration to enhance revenue generation across the firm. During her 30-year career, Harris had extensive industry experience in the technology, media, retail, telecommunications, transportation, industrial and healthcare sectors. In August 2013, she was appointed by President Barack Obama to chair the National Women’s Business Council. She has received numerous honors, including being named to Fortune Magazine’s list of The 50 Most Powerful Black Executives in Corporate America, Fortune’s Most Influential List, Black Enterprise’s Top 75 Most Powerful Women in Business and Essence Magazine’s list of The 50 Women Who Are Shaping the World. She sits on the boards of Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, A Better Chance Inc. and St. Vincent’s Hospitals. She is a member of the board of overseers of Harvard University and of the board of directors of Walmart Inc. Harris is also a gospel singer who has performed five sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall. She is the author of Strategize to Win and Expect to Win.
